Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Harlem Community Center?

HCC is a community center serving mainly Machesney Park, Loves Park, Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit. Our mission is to promote a strong community through a range of programs which support the educational, social, and recreational needs of families and individuals. This looks like hosting our popular Summerball, basketball, and cheerleading leagues, offering early childhood education through our childcare centers, creating opportunities for families to connect at family dances, programs, and much more.

What Programs Do You Offer?

We offer a variety of educational, recreational, and physical programs to suit the needs of everyone in our community.

Currently, we offer:

  • Youth Baseball and Softball
  • Youth T-Ball
  • Youth Basketball
  • Youth Cheerleading
  • Early Childhood Education (infants to pre-K)
  • Summer Day Camp
  • Family Events

How Much Do Your Programs Cost?

We aim to provide programs for families without cost being a barrier to participation. Our wide range of programs are priced anywhere from free to $180 with the ability to sell raffle tickets to offset the cost of our Summerball program. If the cost of a program is stopping you from registering, please contact the office at 815-633-5817 and we’ll be happy to talk with you about your options.

Childcare is also something we offer that we get asked about a lot. To get the most up to date pricing for our childcare facilities, please call our office directly at 815-633-7440.

Are You Constructing a New Building?

Yes, we are! For over 60 years, we’ve been operating out of our building on Roosevelt Road in Machesney Park. While that building has served us very well, we’re excited to be constructing a brand new building in the same location that will more than double our current size! Because of this new space, we will be able to offer more Childcare opportunities to the community as well as Senior Day Services.

We’ll also be able to expand our current program offerings to include more recreational sports, community events, etc.

Is the Harlem Community Center a Registered 501(C)(3)?

Yes. HCC is a 501(c)(3) certified organization with EIN: 36-2706406.
